Sixth Annual Academic Conference on Corporate Governance
The Sixth Annual Conference on Corporate Governance will be held at Drexel University's LeBow College of Business April 5, 2013. The conference features theoretical and empirical research related to corporate governance with a slight preference to research related to work by this year's honoree, Kevin Murphy.
Kevin Murphy, the Kenneth L. Trefftzs Chair in Finance and Professor of Finance and Business Economics at USC Marshall School of Business will receive our award for outstanding contributions to research in corporate governance and present the keynote speech at Friday's luncheon. Previous recipients were Michael Jensen, Rene Stulz, Andrei Shleifer, Steven Kaplan and Harold Demsetz.
The deadline for submission of papers is November 19, 2012. Details about submissions are included below.
PAPER SUBMISSION PROCEDURE: (Submission deadline November 19, 2012) Five papers will be selected for the program. The submission process contains two steps:
1. Send a PDF version of your paper to CorpGov@Drexel.edu. Please note, your paper MUST be saved with the following file name-- All Authors' Last Names_Paper Title.pdf. Submitting Author's name should be first and in all caps with the shortened title of the paper following after an underscore. (See example: WALKLING-Cai _Shareholders Say on Pay.pdf)
2. Once your paper is submitted you will need to register your paper online at https://www.lebow.drexel.edu/Event/2013ACCallForPapers
3. There is a $50 paper submission fee.
To be eligible for submission, the paper must still be at a revisable stage (i.e. neither published nor so close to publication that significant changes are not feasible) by the date of the conference.
We expect to notify authors about acceptances by late February 2013. You are welcome to register and attend the conference whether or not you submit a paper and whether or not your paper is accepted. Conference registration will be opening in January 2013.
TRAVEL ACCOMMODATIONS: Presenters will be responsible for their own travel and lodging for the conference. Hotel accommodations at reduced rates for this conference will be arranged at the Sheraton Hotel in University City.
REGISTRATION INFORMATION: On-line registration will be made available on the conference Web Site after January 1, 2013. The registration fee for this conference is $175. This fee covers the welcome dinner on Thursday, April 4th, breakfast and lunch during the day as well as all conference materials.
