Third PhD Summer School in Dysfunctional Finance
Amsterdam, 14-16 June 2012
For the third year running Duisenberg school of finance organizes a summer doctoral program in finance. The aim is to teach cutting edge methodology in modelling the causes of dysfunctional financial markets.
DESCRIPTION: The school covers models where dysfunctional outcomes emerge from either behavioural distortions or incentive problems. Instructors are chosen among top researchers actively working in these areas. The school is aimed at offering tools to understand determinants of mispricing and excess risk creation, to incorporate them into valuation and risk choices, and ultimately to inform the debate on financial regulatory reform.
CLASSES: There will be four lectures of two hours on 14 and 16 June. On June 15 all students are invited to the DSF Workshop on Behavioral Finance (for more information on the Workshop see: http://www.dsf.nl/home/events/upcoming_events).

FUNDING: There is no attendance fee for admitted students. Accommodation, travel and local expenses are at own cost. The Summer School can assist the students in finding accommodation.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE: Please send applications to Marielle Kruijs: marielle.kruijs@dsf.nl any time before 15 April with a statement of research interests and one recommendation letter. There is a maximum participation so early applications have an advantage.
BEHAVIORAL FINANCE WORKSHOP: On Friday, June 15, 2012, Duisenberg school of finance will be hosting a one-day workshop on Behavioral Finance. Invited speakers include Tarun Chordia (Emory University), Andrea Frazzini (AQR Capital Management and New York University), Harrison Hong (Princeton), Matti Keloharju (Aalto University), Dong Lou (LSE), Subra Subramaniam (UCLA) and Wei Xiong (Princeton).
