The Centre for Corporate Governance Research (CCGR) 10th International Conference on Corporate Governance takes as its theme 'Corporate Governance and Universal Acceptance: Taking Stock of Progress and Indicators of Future Trends'.
TOPICS: We would like to invite papers which examine the extent to which there is universal acceptance of corporate governance and we would be particularly interested in papers which discuss developments in some of the key areas of corporate governance which have been the topic of previous CCGR conferences. Possible topic areas therefore include the evolution of corporate governance; effective boards and responsible investors; the tools of governance; corporate governance and CSR; shareholders and other stakeholders; corporate governance and sustainability; global developments in corporate governance; the role of governance in coping with financial crisis, corporate scandals and failures, etc. There will be a Best Paper Prize for the best paper presented at the conference.
The conference will appeal to academics, policy makers and business/industry professionals and will provide a forum in which delegates can interact and network, and discuss the latest developments in corporate governance and likely future trends. There will be a panel of keynote speakers including Julia Casson (Director, Board Insight Ltd), Professor Chris Cowton (Dean of Huddersfield Business School, UK) and Colin Melvin, (Chief Executive, Hermes Equity Ownership Services Ltd) and presentation of papers by leading academics and practitioners in the field. Sir Adrian Cadbury will be attending the conference in his role as External Advisor to the CCGR
PAPER SUBMISSIONS: The Centre for Corporate Governance Research 10th International Conference on Corporate Governance in collaboration with the International Journal of Disclosure and Governance wishes to present attendees an opportunity to have their papers published in a leading international corporate governance journal. Authors presenting their papers at the conference are invited to submit their paper for fast-track consideration by the journal: all papers will have to go through the journal's regular blind-review process, but the editors will aim to complete that process in an expedited fashion and publish the accepted papers in a special issue devoted to the conference. After presentation of their papers at the conference, interested authors should submit their papers to the journal editor, Professor Michael Alles at alles@business.rutgers.edu , indicating the Birmingham conference in their message. The deadline for submission is September 1, 2012.
