Associate/Full Professor - International/Strategic Management

The Henry W. Bloch School of Management at the University of Missouri - Kansas City is aimed at developing programs of excellence in innovative undergraduate, graduate and executive education. The University has adopted an ambitious plan to be a leader among urban institutions. The vision of the Bloch School is to become a nationally preeminent school. The School's recently revised undergraduate programs and graduate programs in business, along with the new MS programs, are strong offerings attracting regional, national, and international candidates. The School's emphasis is on developing integrative programs that combine the strengths across its major domains including Business, Entrepreneurship, Accounting, and MPA. The School has experienced significant growth and the future trajectory for enrollments is aggressive.

The Department of Management is seeking applications from outstanding candidates for an associate or full professor position in the area of International/Strategic Management. Candidates are expected to have outstanding research and teaching credentials. In addition, candidates must have a track record for participating in, designing, and leading innovative programs that attract high quality regional, national, and international students - in programs such as MBA, executive, international, and strategic management. For suitable candidates, affiliation with the UMKC's highly ranked Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation will be encouraged. The position carries an attractive compensation and support package.

The Henry W. Bloch School of Management is endowed by Henry W. Bloch, founder of H&R Block. Kansas City is headquarters for many major corporations, including Sprint/Nextel, Hallmark, H&R Block, Cerner, American Century Investment Management, Garmin, and several major foundations. In particular, the region's business community is noted for its many entrepreneurs and innovators. The Kansas City metropolitan area is also well known for its reasonable cost of living, enriched quality of life, financially supportive donors, and excellent elementary and secondary school options. The greater Kansas City area has all of the amenities expected of an outstanding metropolitan area, including professional sports teams and world-class arts organizations. Of particular note is the anticipated opening of the Kauffman Center for Performing Arts in Fall 2011.

UMKC enrolls over 14,000 students and is located in the historic Country Club Plaza district of Kansas City, moments from excellent dining and shopping. The Bloch School has almost 1,800 students, 50 full-time faculty, and excellent technology resources. The School offers instruction at the undergraduate, graduate, executive graduate, and doctoral levels. Its business and public administration programs are fully accredited by AACSB International and NASPAA, respectively.
