The Department of Economics invites applications for one opening at the level of new or advanced Assistant Professor in the area of microeconomics.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: We seek to solidify our core strengths by hiring an applied theorist in the micro area, especially someone with research interests in at least one of the following applied micro fields: international trade, labor economics, public economics, development economics, environmental economics and urban and regional economics. The Department is especially interested in someone with interests in Network Formation and Analysis. However, all applicants who are applied theorists in all the fields listed above will be given serious consideration.

Candidates are expected to have an outstanding research record relative to rank, along with the capacity to advise Ph.D. students in their research. Successful candidates would also be expected to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in microeconomics and their relevant applied micro field. We seek candidates who have interdisciplinary interests that complement the broader mission of the Maxwell School and the broader University interests in this area. Special attention will be given to fostering additional demographic diversity within the department. The search begins immediately and will remain open until the position is filled.
