Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY
Assistant or Associate Professor
Labor Economics
Health Economics
Public Economics
Applied Microeconomics
The department seeks an assistant or associate professor in labor economics.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have
completed (or expect to complete prior to
appointment) a Ph.D. in Economics. Preference
will be given to candidates who have interests in
the labor-market impact of federal job training,
social insurance programs, and the markets for
health care and health insurance. This is an
important position because there is considerable
demand from our graduate students to work in this
area. The ideal person for this position is
someone who can provide guidance and advice to
doctoral students, and who can help us staff
graduate and undergraduate classes in labor
economics and related areas. We are interested
as well in candidates with bona fide interests in
labor economics, who work in the following
related areas: public economics, health
economics, and applied microeconomics.
Special attention will be given to (i) fostering
additional demographic diversity within the
department and (ii) recruiting faculty who can
provide assistance in the advising of doctoral research.
