Professorship in Macroeconomics

The Faculty of Business and Economics of the University of Basel, Switzerland, invites applications for a Professorship in Macroeconomics to begin on August 1, 2014. The appointment will be at the level of a Full Professor, Associate Professor, or Tenure-Track Assistant Professor, depending on the successful candidate's qualifications and university experience.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants for a full or associate professorship should possess an excellent international publication record and several years of postdoctoral research experience. All applicants should have demonstrated a commitment to teaching excellence at all levels.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Ideally, the successful candidate's central research focus should be in the fields of macroeconomics and monetary economics (theory and policy). The professorship involves teaching degree courses at the Bachelor's and Master's level and contributing to the faculty's doctoral program. The teaching commitment amounts to 4 to 8 hours per week each semester, depending on the level of appointment. Participation in the Master of International and Monetary Economics program (MIME) is expected. Teaching duties may be carried out in English. The position also entails securing research funding and participating in the university's self-administration.
