The Vienna Institute for International Economic Studies (wiiw) is one of the principal centres for economic research on Central, East and Southeast Europe with 40 years of experience.

We have expanded our work on European integration issues but also on developments in the Wider European region and its neighbourhood. We are looking for an Economist who will strengthen our expertise in macroeconomic analysis, on Turkey and with an interest in the EU Neighbourhood.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Research on applied macroeconomic analysis
- Build up our country/regional expertise on Turkey and expand our expertise on the EU Neighbourhood
- Acquisition of and work on research projects

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- PhD in Economics/or just before completion of PhD (good university degree)
- Research experience in macroeconomic analysis
- Quantitative and econometric skills
- Excellent English (written and oral) and presentation skills
- Knowledge of Turkish is welcome
- Ability to work in teams

FURTHER INFORMATION: The position is limited to one year in the first instance and can be extended.

Start: as soon as possible

We are paying salaries comparable to universities. Remuneration for the position will be Euro 36,000 annually or above.
