Full Professor/Director for the Research Centre for Education and the Labour Market (ROA) and Chair in Education and the Labour Market (Department of Economics) (total: 1.0 fte)
JOB DESCRIPTION: The director of the ROA will bear final responsibility for all aspects of the organisation. Within ROA's management team, the director has specific responsibility for the coherence and scientific quality of ROA's research output, the integration of ROA's research within the Graduate School of Business and Economics (GSBE) and the cooperation between ROA and the Department of Economics in particular. Given the specific nature of ROA's research interests, the director of the ROA is also expected to play a role in the public policy debate on education and the labour market and to maintain a good balance between ROA's fundamental and policy-oriented research.
The chair in Education and the Labour Market is intended to play an active role in initiating, coordinating and carrying out research projects that lead to international publications of the highest quality, thus contributing to the visibility and reputation of ROA. The chair is also expected to attract funding for fundamental research. Limited teaching duties (including coordination) will refer to the (research) master's programmes in the chair's field.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: The candidate should be an internationally known researcher who meets the highest quality standards, as shown by top-level international publications in the areas of labour economics and/or education economics. The candidate should have excellent leadership qualities and should be able to attract research funding and to motivate others to do high-profile research. The candidate should have an excellent network both within the scientific community and within the relevant policy field.
WE OFFER: The selected candidate will occupy a combined position as director of the ROA and chair in Education and the Labour Market in the Department of Economics. This will be a full appointment for an unlimited term. Salary will be determined according to responsibility, experience and the salary scales in the Dutch University Salary Scales.
