Position in Financial Risk

The Financial Risk Unit is responsible of measuring, monitoring and evaluating risks of assets, liabilities, forecasting the results of the overall balance sheet of the Central Bank, and informing the General Manager and the Board of Directors of the financial position and risks of the institution. Financial Risk has an advisory role in the definition of the bank's risk management framework, including credit, currency, interest rate, and liquidity risks.

JOB DESCRIPTION: The main responsibilities of the position are:
- To develop financial-economics models, including the effects of monetary policy, exchange rate and other financial stability policies over the balance sheet and financial strength of the Central Bank.
- To identify, measure and evaluate the risks to the balance sheet that result from the Bank's policy actions or operations.
- To prepare and supervise presentations to the Board related to the analysis and forecasts of the balance sheet of the Bank.
- To advice the Head of Financial Risk in matters of financial-economics.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ph.D. in economics, finance, or physical and mathematical sciences.
- Work experience in a central bank or international financial institution related to monetary and financial stability studies is desirable.
- Highly motivated, results oriented individual with capacity to coordinate activities.
- Organization and planning skills to manage own work, to contribute to team efforts, and to communicate ideas both verbally and in writing.
- Extensive experience with econometric software, programming and databases.
- Proficient in English (test results may be requested).
- Strong moral values and a commitment to the strict ethical principals required by the Bank.
