Postdoctoral Research Scholar
The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) is now accepting applications for one Postdoctoral Research Scholar position. The postdoctoral scholar will conduct primary and/or secondary research on the impact of imperfections in formal credit markets on firm performance, with a special emphasis on firm growth and competitiveness.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. within the last 2 years (or by 2013) in economics, finance, public policy, or related disciplines. Areas of expertise (any):
1. Financial crises and their effects on firm growth and productivity
2. The impact of credit market imperfections on firm performance
3. Measurement and characterization of financial gaps
4. Trade finance
5. Optimal allocation of credit and the trade-off between credit availability and leverage
6. The impact of credit growth on the competitive structure of economies
7. The role of credit markets in the size distribution of firms
8. The effect of public banks on the performance of SMEs
DURATION: One year, starting in April 2013. Flexible dates.
