The result of the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise confirms Exeter's position as one of the UK's leading research-intensive universities. Every single subject submitted in that exercise was classified as world-leading (4*) research. The Times Higher Education recently described Exeter as 'a rising star among research-intensive institutions'.
ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY: The University of Exeter Business School is one of the UK's top schools. Nationally, all three of our main subject areas rank in the top 10. In the 2008 research assessment exercise, two-thirds of our research was assessed as world-leading or internationally excellent. The School is a leading part of the University: a member of the Russell Group of research-intensive universities; and the Sunday Times University of the Year 2013.
ABOUT THE SCHOOL: The School continues to be ambitious. We want to be recognised internationally for bringing together students, faculty and corporate partners to develop exceptionally able and employable graduates, and create distinctive research of the highest calibre and relevance. As part of achieving this aim, we are seeking to appoint a number of academics with international reputations for their inspirational teaching and world-leading research.
We are seeking to appoint a Professor from 1st September 2013. The University of Exeter has a long-standing reputation for excellence in Economics and Econometrics. Our research strengths include Applied and Public Economics, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Econometrics and Experimental Economics; the School is home to the Finance and Experimental Economics Laboratory at Exeter (FEELE). The Department of Economics has recently been awarded substantial funding from the ESRC for a Research Centre for the Study of Risk and Ambiguity and from the ESRC, MHRC and HMT for a Tax Administration Research Centre.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: We are primarily interested in adding strength to research and teaching in the fields of Macroeconomics and Applied Microeconometrics, but applications in any field will be considered. Candidates must have an international reputation in research and an exceptional record of teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The successful candidates will be also able to demonstrate their ability and enthusiasm to contribute positively in a leadership role to the activities of the Department and the Business School.
