The Monetary Policy Research Division of the ECB is interested in hiring experienced or recent PhDs in economics, with a specialization in macroeconomics and monetary economics.
Directorate General Research Economist
JOB DESCRIPTION: Successful candidates will be expected to conduct and publish high-quality research. In particular, the division carries out research into: monetary policy rules and optimal monetary policy; interaction between monetary and fiscal policy; macro models with financial frictions; expectations and learning; labour markets; time series models; competitiveness and trade; international financial linkages; consumer finance and consumer behaviour; heterogeneous agents models; structural, sectoral and regional analyses. The division also develops, maintains and uses econometric models for forecasts and policy analyses.
Economists also contribute to other responsibilities of the Directorate General, in particular advising on policy. This may entail the development of conceptual frameworks or the preparation of analytical operational tools, possibly in collaboration with competent policy areas of the ECB. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in economics or related field required. Candidates currently enrolled in a Ph.D. program must be nearing the completion of their dissertation. Applicants must be nationals of an EU Member State or Croatia.
