ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT: The Department offers a stimulating resource environment, where the main research areas in economics are Industrial Organization, International Economics, Labor Economics, Macroeconomics, Public Economics, Resource Economics and Agricultural Economics, and Social Choice/Experimental Economics. The Department now wants to expand its faculty in order to strengthen its research activities and also to further develop teaching in economics at NHH. The applicants will be assessed based on an overall evaluation of documented professional competence. Scientific competence will be evaluated in terms of the amount and quality of research within relevant fields in economics. The candidate's ability to complement existing faculty's expertise in both teaching and research will be strongly emphasized.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Faculty members at NHH are expected to be good teachers. Applicants' pedagogical qualifications will be considered on the basis of experience in teaching and student supervision, and also other relevant documentation that demonstrates pedagogical qualifications. In addition to submitting written documentation, possible appointees will be required to meet for an interview, and to give a trial lecture and/or a seminar.
The appointee is expected to be involved in teaching and student supervision in degree programs at bachelor, masters and PhD levels.
In the assessment of applicants, international experience and qualifications will be emphasized. A doctoral degree from an accredited institution is required.
SALARY/BENEFITS: Salary is negotiable according to Norwegian State Salary Scale for Professor or Associate Professor. The school offers favorable membership in the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund, generous research funds for travelling and conference participation, and bonus systems for publication in international refereed journals.
FURTHER INFORMATION: The appointee must comply with the guidelines that apply to the position at any time. The appointee may be required to enroll in a pedagogical course of short duration.
