2-Year Position as Postdoctoral Researcher - Economics - Food Markets - Food Policy

Applications are invited for a full-time limited-term 2-year position as postdoctoral researcher (code 1352), with the possibility of a one-year extension, is available in the School of Economics and Business, Norwegian University of Life Sciences.

The School of Economics and Business is responsible for undergraduate and graduate level programs in Economics and in Business Administration, and currently has a total of 630 students, 30 of which are PhD students. Main research areas in the school are environmental and resource economics, energy economics, development economics, finance, food markets, philosophy. JOB DESCRIPTION: The postdoctoral researcher is expected to conduct research, preferably in collaboration with faculty members, on topics related to the economics of food markets and/or food policy, preferably of relevance to the Norwegian food markets.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- A PhD in economics, preferably with specialization relevant to studies of food markets and food policy. Candidates who have submitted their thesis but not yet defended it may also be considered.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct research independently and in collaboration with others.
- The candidate's research should complement ongoing research in the school.
- The applicant cannot have had a post doctor position at the UMB in the past.
- Because women are underrepresented in the school, if two or more applicants are considered to be equally qualified for the position, and at least one of them is a female, the female will be preferred.

The applicants will be assessed based on an overall evaluation of documented professional competence. Scientific competence will be evaluated in terms of the amount and quality of international publications.

OUTLINE OF RESEARCH PROJECT: The applicant should propose an outline of the research to be conducted in the post doc position (maximum 2 pages).

REMUNERATION: Starting salary is at state salary level 59 (currently NOK 472 600) per year. A higher starting salary is negotiable for applicants with significant relevant job experience. Compulsory membership in The Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund.
