Professorship for Entrepreneurial Activity, Global Responsibility and Sustainability
Located in Friedrichshafen near Lake Constance, Zeppelin University is a state-recognized independent endowment university accredited by the German Science Council. Zeppelin University sees itself as a university positioned at the interfaces between economics, culture and politics and has a strong commitment to interdisciplinarity, internationality, and individualism in research and teaching, currently with three humanities and social science departments and 13 accredited Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral programs.
JOB DESCRIPTION: The university has recently established the interdisciplinary European Center for Sustainability Research. ECS, for which an Endowed Chair is to be filled, focusing on sustainability research from a social science or cultural studies perspective. For the continuing development of the Center we are seeking to fill the position of Audi Endowed Professorship for Entrepreneurial Activity, Global Responsibility and Sustainability as soon as is possible.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: The person we seek to appoint should have experience in qualitative and/or quantitative empirical research, demonstrate the ability to conduct first-rate social science studies and have a proven track record of such research projects and publications.
An example of possible research topics could be the sociological analysis of the changes in societal structure and culture of modern societies as well as their interdependencies with social and political developments in an internationally comparative context. In addition, specific experience in conducting social scientific research on the changing roles of corporations, consumers and governance in modern societies would be of particular value.

WE EXPECT: In addition to outstanding research-related performance, excellent didactic skills for taking on demanding teaching responsibilities, some of which will be conducted in English, within the framework of the Bachelor programs, research-oriented Master programs, and for further-educational programs and doctoral-related studies. In addition, we also expect involvement in the procurement of competitive third-party funding for research projects.
The respective requirements for submitting an application for the position of Professor include the European degree of Habilitation or equivalent scientific/academic performance.
