Programme Director of the Tommaso Padoa-Schioppa Programme at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies (RSCAS)

The European University Institute is seeking applicants for the position of Programme Director of the Tommaso Padoa-Schioppa Programme at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies (RSCAS).

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates should have outstanding academic research and policy qualifications in the economic aspects of the European integration process and the building of the European monetary union, regional economic integration, public policy and financial regulation and intermediation. Tommaso Padoa-Schioppa was a talented economist with keen insights into the making of economic policy and the candidate should reflect those attributes and connect the work of the Economics Department and of the RSCAS. Further, the candidate must have existing relations with, and the ability to communicate with European and International Organizations. In this way the programme will combine the research and policy dimensions of Tommaso Padoa-Schioppa.

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Director will be responsible for the overall steering and monitoring of the Programme and over-seeing its components of applied research and policy activities. The candidate should have good research qualifications, organization attitudes and experience, ability to communicate and to develop relations, and fund raising experience. The initial contract will be for five years, renewable for a further three years conditional upon satisfactory performance appraisal and availability of funds.
