The Department of Institutional Analysis and Public
Management of Universita Bocconi, Milan (Italy) -

track position at the junior faculty level in the fields of
Economic History and Long-Run Development. The appointment
will start with the academic year 2010-2011 (autumn 2010).
Each selected candidate will be interviewed at the 2010
ASSA meeting in Atlanta or in another appropriate academic
venue and may be subsequently invited to give a job talk at
Bocconi during the January-March 2010 period. There is also
the possibility that a candidate will be directly invited
for a fly-out in Bocconi. Contracts will run for up to
seven years (with no teaching obligations the first year
and subject to renewal after the first four years). There
is also the possibility of promotion to a tenured position
at the end of that period. Knowledge of Italian is not
required but applicants must be fluent in English for
instructional needs.
JOB DESCRIPTION/QUALIFICATIONS:
Responsibilities include teaching and, most importantly,
productivity in research.
Applicants should have - or be close to completing - a Ph.D.
and will have demonstrated strong potential in research and
teaching.
Compensation and teaching load will be competitive with
other top European academic institutions.
