ASSOCIATE LECTURER (REF: HAA 279/09):
Applications are invited for appointment to this position
which will be offered on a full-time fixed term basis for a
period of 3 years commencing prior to the beginning of
Semester 1, 2010.
The appointee will be expected to contribute to the
School's teaching program primarily by providing teaching
and administrative support in the School's large, cross-
campus, core introductory-level economics units, namely
microeconomics, macroeconomics and quantitative methods.
Applicants must have an Honours degree in Economics or
Finance (minimum 2A) or equivalent, and will be expected to
enroll in a research higher degree in the School in an area
that is consistent with the research interests and
supervisory capacity of existing staff within six months of
their date of commencement.
LECTURER (REF: HAA 278/09):
Applications are invited for appointment to this position
which will be offered on a full-time fixed term basis for a
period of 3 years commencing in early 2010.
The School has a particular interest in appointing someone
who can contribute to teaching in at least two the
following core areas: microeconomics, macroeconomics and
quantitative economics.
Applicants must have a PhD in Economics or a related field,
and be able to demonstrate the ability to teach effectively
and to conduct independent research, leading to scholarly
publication. They must also demonstrate their willingness
and ability to supervise Honours students and to undertake
administrative duties as requested. While the position is
based in Hobart, the appointee will be required to
contribute to the School meeting its teaching and other
commitments on other Tasmanian campuses, and
internationally.
LECTURER/SENIOR LECTURER (REF: HAA 280/09):
Applications are invited for appointment to this position
which will be offered on a full-time tenurable basis
commencing in early 2010.
Applicants must have a PhD in Finance and/or Economics, and
be able to demonstrate the ability to teach effectively and
to conduct independent research, leading to scholarly
publication. They must also demonstrate their willingness
and ability to supervise Honours and postgraduate students
and to undertake administrative duties as requested.
Applicants at the Senior Lecturer level will also be
required to demonstrate the capacity to develop and
coordinate new courses and research projects.
ABOUT THE SCHOOL:
The School of Economics and Finance is highly regarded for
the quality of its teaching and research. It has an
impressive record in securing nationally competitive
research grants and in attracting some outstanding
students. Members of the School have figured regularly in
high quality national and international journals in
economics.
Whilst these positions are based in Hobart, the appointee
will be required to contribute to the School meeting its
teaching and other commitments on other Tasmanian campuses,
and internationally.
