Tenure Track Positions in Economics and Econometrics
Senior Professor Positions in Economics and Econometrics
The National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS)
is a leading university, which encourages and supports
academic research in economics, politics, and other policy-
related fields, and ranks 3rd in REPEC in Japan -

international in our faculty, our student body and our
outlook. We are currently seeking candidates for up to
three positions to start in Fall 2010 (exact timing is
negotiable).
Candidates with an interest in one of the following fields
are invited to apply:
- Applied microeconomics
- Applied econometrics
- Macroeconomics
- Public economics
- International finance
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Positions are tenure track, and the initial contract will
be for three years and renewable once for another three
years. A tenure decision will be made by the end of the
fifth year. Those who already have sufficient experience in
research and teaching can be considered for a tenured
associate or full professor position immediately.
Appointees will be required to teach 3-4 courses per year
in English. The appointee is also expected to conduct high
level research and to contribute administratively.
We will receive applications from those who already have a
PhD (or equivalent degree) in Economics or in a related
field, and those who can show sufficient evidence to obtain
a PhD degree in the very near future.
Tenure consideration will be based on the appointee's
ability to conduct high level research, to teach
effectively, including supervising PhD and MA theses, and
to contribute to administrative and academic services.
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and
experience. The University offers a comprehensive benefit
and retirement package including medical insurance.
