                   Faculty Position (China Studies)

     The Division of Social Science of The Hong Kong University
     of Science and Technology (HKUST) invites applications for
     a tenure-track position from scholars who conduct high-
     quality, disciplinary-based research on China.



     OVERVIEW:


     Depending on the applicant's qualifications and experience,
     the appointment will be made at the rank of Assistant
     Professor or Associate Professor, with an initial three-
     year contract (or substantiated appointment in the case of
     associate professorship with an exceptionally strong
     publication record) starting from July 2010.



     JOB QUALIFICATION:


     The successful candidate must have a PhD degree at the time
     of appointment, with demonstrated record to carry out
     theoretically-informed and empirically-based work on
     contemporary China. Salary is competitive and will be
     commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe
     benefits include annual leave, medical and dental benefits.
     Housing will be provided where applicable. A gratuity will
     be payable upon successful completion of contract.
