      ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY:

Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands, has been a
renowned cultural, scientific and commercial center for
many centuries. It was here, in 1880, that the Vrije
Universiteit first opened its doors to students.

The VU - http://www.vuamsterdam.com - aims to be inspiring,
Innovative and involved. It now comprises twelve faculties
and has teaching facilities for 18,000 students. The
university campus and university hospital are situated in
the southern part of Amsterdam, a dynamic and fast-growing
business district in the Netherlands. Public transport
facilities to the center and other cities are excellent.
The international airport of Schiphol-Amsterdam is well
connected by train (10 minutes). Many research and
educational programs of the Vrije Universiteit are of a high
quality and externally evaluated as excellent.

      ABOUT THE FACULTY:

The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration -
      http://web.vu.nl - offers a range of full-and part-time
programs at the undergraduate and graduate level. In total,
we welcome about 550 new students each year in Economics,
Business Administration and Econometrics. The Faculty has a
      strong research culture.

      ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT:

The Department of Econometrics and Operations Research -
http://www.feweb.vu.nl/ectrie - is responsible for the
Bachelor and Master programs in Econometrics & Mathematical
Economics and Operations Research & Business Econometrics.
Furthermore the Department is responsible for the basic
courses in mathematics and statistics for the Bachelor
programs in Economics and Business Administration.

The Department forms an ambitious, internationally oriented
research group dedicated to high-quality research and
teaching. The research programs are directed towards time
      series econometrics, mathematical economics-game theory,
and operations research. The research focus is on both
theoretical and applied problems. We aim to publish our
research output in international top journals. The
Department is also actively engaged with the PhD programs
of the Tinbergen Institute - http://www.tinbergen.nl - and
the Duisenberg school of finance -
      http://www.duisenbergschooloffinance.com.

      THE TIME SERIES ECONOMETRICS GROUP:

The quality of the research conducted by the time series
group is reflected by our record in publications in
high-quality journals, our active and relevant research
agenda, our collaborations with international researchers
and the invitations to participate at conferences and
seminars. We are highly motivated to continue the
development of new theoretical and applied research in
econometric time series analysis with a focus on practical
relevance. We therefore seek expansion of our group with an
assistant or associate professor. Currently, our group
consists of seven researchers (professors, lecturers and
post-docs) that all have a major interest in time series
econometrics. Furthermore, we have six PhD students and
have usually two visiting young researchers. Within our
group we carry out editorial duties and co-organize
activities such as the Netherlands Econometric Study Group.
Finally we actively support the acquirement of research
funds from national and international, public and private
research funds. We expect candidates for this position to
be actively engaged in these activities. For more detailed
information about our group, you can visit the webpage -
      http://staff.feweb.vu.nl/koopman.
