                      Economist or Statistician


     The Deutsche Bundesbank is one of the biggest central banks
     in the world. Our business areas include monetary policy,
     banking supervision, financial and monetary systems, cash
     and cashless payments. We are looking for an economist or
     statisticianto work in our Research Centre at the
     Bundesbank's Central Office in Frankfurt am Main.


     ABOUT THE RESEARCH CENTER:

     Our Research Centre, together with other members of the
     Eurosystem, is currently working on the preparation of a
     joint survey on the finances and consumption of households.
     The German contribution will take the form of a panel,
     which is scheduled to enter the field for the first time
     next year. More detailed information on the entire project

     JOB DESCRIPTION:

     - Input in creating the survey, eg development of sampling
       method, projection and weighting as well as the
       imputation of missing observations
     - Research work for academic publications and academic
       analyses to support the Executive Board in policy matters
     - Compilation of non-technical articles for a broader
       target group


     JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

     - University degree, (accredited) Masters or equivalent
       qualification with above-average results
     - Secure command of current econometric procedures
     - Experience in the production and empirical evaluation of
       survey data
     - Relevant professional experience or experience in
       independent research work (ideally, supported by your own
       publications and/or dissertation)
     - Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
     - Sound command of written and spoken German and English
