Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Finance
The School of Economics & Finance is seeking a Postdoctoral
Research Fellow with expertise in Finance, fixed-term full-
time appointment for two years with the possibility of an
extension of one year. The successful candidate will be
based in Brisbane.
The School of Economics and Finance seek applications from
individuals who have either been recently awarded a
doctorate or are in the final submission stage. The
successful applicant will demonstrate capacity to
contribute to building the research profile of the School
and make a limited contribution to its teaching program.

Salary: $68,448 to $81,289
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Under the direction of the project leader and, and in
consultation with the wider project team where relevant,
the appointee will work independently on the following:
Plan and carry out research under the supervision of the
project leaders.
Collaborate with researchers across the School's research
projects.
Provide regular written and verbal reports as directed by
the project leaders and undertake associated administrative
functions.
Contribute to the preparation of research proposal
submissions to external funding bodies.
Prepare and publish research outcomes in relevant refereed
Australian and international journals and present research
outcomes at seminars and conferences as directed by the
project leader.
Contribute to the research culture of the School and assist
in the supervision of research students and support staff
within research projects.
Undertake contributions to the teaching program within
their field of research.
Maintain research confidentiality and conform to all
requirements for the protection of intellectual property.
Development and maintenance of an interactive web-based
investment portfolio.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Essential:
1. A PhD in Finance with demonstrated academic research
potential. We are preferably looking for individuals who
have just finished their PhD or with only a few years of
experience after their PhDs.
2. Good verbal and written English language skills.
3. Proven high ability in the use of analytical methods,
including statistical techniques.
4. The ability to work with world-class researchers and
the desire to become a research orientated finance
academic.
5. Sound knowledge of health and safety, equal opportunity
and equity principles with a demonstrated ability to
implement such principles at an operational level.
