     The Department of Finance in the Pamplin College of
     Business at Virginia Tech is encouraging applicants to the
     PhD program for study beginning Fall 2008.



     ABOUT OUR PROGRAM:


     The doctoral program in finance in the Pamplin College of
     Business is a research-oriented program leading to the Ph.D.
     degree in Finance. The program is designed to prepare students
     for careers in college or university research and teaching.
     Although the doctoral program in finance at Virginia Tech is
     relatively young (first Ph.D. degree granted in 1979), our
     graduates have procured jobs at well renowned universities. As
     of fall 2007, seven students are enrolled in the program.

     APPLICATION PROCEDURE:


     1) Applications are made to the Graduate School at Virginia
        Tech.

     2) GMAT scores can be sent to the Pamplin College of
        Business (code 53B-XS-59).


     3) Official transcripts, a statement of purpose, and three
        recommendation letters are sent directly to the

     There is a $45 application fee that will be REIMBURSED (not
     waived) for applicants with GMAT scores of 700 or better.


     Applications will be accepted until January 15th 2008.
