      The Institute for the Study of Competition & Regulation is
      New Zealand's leading centre for research on the economics
      of competition, regulation, markets, and industrial
      organisation. Since its establishment in 1996 it has built
      an outstanding record of academic research, policy,
      publications, engagement and graduate supervision.


      JOB DESCRIPTION:

      The Executive Director has the responsibility of managing
      the day-to-day operation of the Institute, for the research
      performance of the Institute and for implementing its
      strategic direction.


      JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

      The successful appointee should preferably have a higher
      degree in economics and demonstrated research record to a
      level that enables an appointment as, or up to, a Professor
      at Victoria University of Wellington. Candidates with
      exceptional records and promise may be considered.
      Demonstrable management skills and the ability to
      communicate with a wide range of audiences are essential.
