                      Junior Visiting Researcher


      The Deutsche Bundesbank is looking to recruit Junior
      Visiting Researcher for a wide range of challenging and
      varied tasks in the Research Centre at our Central Office
      in Frankfurt am Main/Germany.

      The Deutsche Bundesbank is the German central bank and part
      of the Eurosystem. In the Economic Research Centre, staff
      economists and visiting researchers from academic
      institutions are engaged in various research areas.


      JOB DESCRIPTION:

      In this environment, you will participate in the
      development of DSGE models for the quantitative policy
      analysis that takes place at the Bundesbank. The aim is to
      work on extensions of our core model into in the following
      directions.

      - Financial markets and intermediaries; in order to improve
        our understanding of the monetary transmission mechanisms
        and of new developments in the banking industry and
        financial markets
      - Fiscal policy; to analyse, for example, the role of
        fiscal rules, effects of tax changes, fiscal policy
        interaction in the euro area, and long-term financial
        challenges;
      - Open-economy linkages; to analyse the interaction of the
        German economy with other countries, in particular those
        of the European Monetary Union.


      JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

      You would be an ideal candidate to join our highly
      qualified team if you have:

      - obtained a very good university degree and doctorate or
        are about to complete a doctorate in economics
      - training in macroeconomics and/or econometrics,
        especially with the theory and estimation of DSGE models,
        as well as familiarity with at least one of the above-
        mentioned areas; ideally, the contribution would also
        result in a (several) research paper(s)
      - the ability to work both independently and as a part of a
        team
      - knowledge of German would be an advantage.

      The position will be for a period of three to twelve
      months.
