UNIVERSITY OF GRONINGEN
The Netherlands
Faculty of Economics and Business
Full Professor of Applied Econometrics/Statistics
The Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of
Groningen, the Netherlands, offers a position as Full
Professor of Applied Econometrics/Statistics (vac.nr.
208037).
Most empirical research in economics and business is based
on quantitative methods in general and on the application
of econometric and statistical methods in particular. Data
sets are of increasingly better quality, and, in the case
of time series, of increasingly higher frequency. This, and
increased computing power, enable modern applied
researchers to examine research questions that could not be
answered until recently. Empirical research in economics
and business has benefited from recent advances in
econometric and statistical techniques, for example in the
areas of time series analysis, financial econometrics,
semi- and nonparametric models, and simulation and
bootstrap.
