               Visiting Professorship in Macroeconomics

                      Academic Year 2008 - 2009


     The Department of Money and Macroeconomics within the
     Faculty of Economics and Business at Goethe University of
     Frankfurt is looking to fill the position of Visiting
     Professor in Macroeconomics for the winter semester 2008/09
     (13 October 2008 to 13 February 2009) and summer semester
     2009  (14 April 2009 to 17 July 2009).


     MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

     Ph.D. in Economics and postdoctoral research and teaching
     experience in macroeconomics. Lecturers, assistant,
     associate as well as full professors are encouraged to
     apply for this visiting position.


     TEACHING:

     The Visiting Professorship carries a regular teaching load
     of 8 semester hours. The visiting professor would be
     expected to participate in the department's core course
     offerings in macroeconomics at the Bachelor, Master and
     Ph.D. level. Part of the teaching obligations could be
     fulfilled with more specialized courses for advanced
     undergraduates, Master and Ph.D. students in areas of
     interest to the Visiting Professor. Master and Ph.D.
     courses need to be taught in English. Undergraduate
     courses may be taught in German or English.


     ENVIRONMENT:

     Due to the presence of the European Central Bank, the
     Bundesbank and the Center for Financial Studies, Frankfurt
     is a very attractive environment for research economists in
     macroeconomics. Many top macro-economists regularly visit
     the ECB, Goethe University, the CFS or the Bundesbank and
     contribute to the active research environment.
