Netspar Research Grants 2013
Deadline for proposals May 12, 2013
Netspar, Network for Pensions, Aging and Retirement, invites proposals for academic research papers. This year's budget amount is a maximum of Euro 70,000. Netspar stimulates innovative scientific research on all aspects of the social sciences related to aging and retirement.
TOPICS: Current topics on the research agenda are constituted in the following Pension Innovation Labs (PILs):
- Risk management during working life
- Risk management during retirement
- The art of choosing
- Supervision of funded pensions: Solvency and transparency
- Risk sharing and distribution among generations: Full funding, pay-as-you-go, taxation
- Intergenerational risk sharing and distribution
- The labor market
- Heterogeneity within generations and the position of senior citizens

MAIN CHARACTERISTICS:
- Budget maximum of Euro 10,000 per grant
- Eleven months to complete paper for Netspar Discussion Paper Series
- Objective to present this paper at a Netspar Pension Workshop
- Contribute to existing literature and add value to the Netspar research agenda
APPLICATION PROCEDURE: Proposals for a research grant should contain the following information:
1. A title page with names of all authors and contact details of the corresponding author
2. A description (two or three pages) of the research question and an indication how the paper contributes to the existing literature and the added value to Netspar's research program
3. A description of data needed and other relevant information for the feasibility of the project
4. A timetable for completion of the project
5. A statement about other funding for the project (if applicable)
6. A copy of each author's CV.
Only applications in accordance with the Netspar format will be accepted for the selection procedure. Submission Proposals can be submitted by email to info@netspar.nl, mentioning: Application for Netspar Research Grant. The deadline for submission is May 12, 2013.
SELECTION PROCESS: The research coordinators and academic experts for each different scientific discipline support the evaluation of proposals. Grants are awarded by the Netspar Board of Directors under the condition that the paper contains new and original work (at the latest by the end of June).
