Call for Papers
TILEC Workshop on "Innovation and the Patent System"

20 and 21 June 2013, Tilburg University

As part of a series of events to celebrate its 10th anniversary, the Tilburg Law and Economics Center invites submissions for a workshop on "Innovation and the Patent System", to be held at Tilburg University on 20 and 21 June 2013.

This interdisciplinary workshop aims to bring together economists and legal scholars to present and discuss research on innovation and patents, with a focus on some of the challenges currently facing the patent system. The goal is to foster exchange between the two disciplines in this field where complementarities between law and economics are particularly important.

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS:
Rebecca Eisenberg (University of Michigan)
Bronwyn Hall (University of California, Berkeley)

Participating authors will have their papers formally discussed by leading scholars in the field. Speakers will have 25 minutes for presentation and discussants will have 10 minutes, followed by 10 minutes of public discussion. Speakers might be asked to discuss a paper. For the presenters of accepted papers, TILEC will cover accommodation and, within certain limits, also travel expenses.

PAPER SUBMISSION PROCEDURE: The deadline for submissions is March 1, 2013. Long abstracts are accepted but full papers are preferred. Submissions (in PDF format) should be sent to TILECinnovation@tilburguniversity.edu. Authors of accepted papers will be notified by March 29, 2013.
