Call for Papers
2012 CFTC Research Conference

To be held on November 30, 2012 at the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, Washington, DC

ORGANIZER: U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission

OVERVIEW: The Office of the Chief Economist of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) is hosting a high level research conference to bring together scholars, practitioners and policy makers working on the commodity derivatives markets and the impact of these markets on the broader economy. The program will include both invited and submitted papers. Subject to budget availability, authors and discussants of accepted papers will be reimbursed for their travel expenses.

TOPICS: The conference will be organized around three main themes:
1. Automated, algorithmic and high frequency trading.
2. The economics of swaps markets.
3. The financialization of commodity markets.

PAPER SUBMISSION PROCEDURE: Authors are invited to submit completed papers. Paper submission deadline is November 12, 2012. Submitters should also indicate whether they are willing to discuss a paper or to chair a session. All papers will be reviewed by the Program Committee. Submitters will be notified of the Program Committee's decision by November 19, 2012.
