Call for Papers
The 28th Annual General Meeting & Conference of the Pakistan Society of Development Economists

Dear Sir/Madam,

The Pakistan Society of Development Economists (PSDE) is sending 'Call for Papers' for its 28th Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Conference which is being held on November 13-15, 2012, in Islamabad. The theme of the conference is, "Economic Reforms for Productivity, Innovation and Growth". The sub-themes are:
- Trade Openness and Industrial Competitiveness
- Modern Services as Drivers of Growth
- Entrepreneurship and Innovation
- Public Sector Reforms
- Agricultural Productivity and Markets
- Demographic Transition and Labor Markets

PAPER SUBMISSION PROCEDURE: The title of the paper, relevant to the theme/sub-themes, with an abstract should reach the PSDE secretariat by September 05, 2012. The title and the abstract of the paper should be electronically submitted on the prescribed form at psde@pide.org.pk. A maximum of two submissions are permissible per author. The abstract submission form is available from the PSDE website: http://www.pide.org.pk/psde. The last date for the submission of papers is October 07, 2012. Please note that only those papers that have been cleared by the Screening and Evaluation Committee will be presented in the conference.

After the conference, papers will be selected for publication in the Proceedings Volume of the Pakistan Development Review (PDR) on the recommendations of the discussants. The authors would be required to submit the revised paper in the light of the comments received during presentation. However, all other papers presented will be posted on the PSDE website ( http://www.pide.org.pk/psde) till the next conference.

PSDE MEMBERSHIP: The person(s) submitting the paper is expected to be the member of the PSDE. Any person who is not a member of the PSDE at present may apply for the membership and send paper for consideration. All the relevant information about the conference is available from the PSDE Secretariat and website.

FURTHER DETAIL: A page limit of 25 pages (double space typing on A4 size paper) has been fixed for all papers. The paper presenters from out-station will be provided hotel accommodation and airfare for the conference, while those coming from out of country would only be provided local hospitality.
