39th EARIE Annual Conference

The LUISS Guido Carli and the Universita di Roma "Tor Vergata" are very pleased to organize the 39th Annual Conference of the European Association for Research in Industrial Economics (EARIE) (Note that EARIE 2012 will run from Sunday to Tuesday.)
ABOUT THE EARIE CONFERENCE: The annual EARIE conference provides a platform to present and discuss the latest research in the wider field of industrial economics. This popular event attracts more than 400 participants annually. The conference website is http://www.earie2012.org. The EARIE 2012 will take place in the centrally located campus of LUISS Guido Carli. The social programme will include private visits to the Terme di Caracalla (Baths of Caracalla) and the Cappella Sistina (Sistine Chapel).
PAPER SUBMISSION PROCEDURE: All interested researchers are invited to submit their papers, until 15 March, at http://www.webmeets.com/earie/2012, or through the conference website http://www.earie2012.org
CONFERENCE PROGRAM: The program will consist of contributed sessions and invited sessions, selected by the 2012 EARIE Scientific Committee, chaired by Y Spiegel (Tel Aviv University).
SPEAKERS: The invited keynote speakers for EARIE 2012 are L Einav (Stanford) and M Katz (Berkeley). The conference will open with an invited session on internet, online advertising and e-commerce, with S Athey (Harvard and Microsoft), P McAfee (Yahoo! Research) and H Varian (UC Berkeley and Google). Other confirmed invited presenters are L Benkard (Stanford), Y K Che (Columbia), C Fershtman (Tel Aviv), A Gambardella (Bocconi), A Skrzypacz (Stanford), J Sutton (LSE) and O Toivanen (KU Leuven).
YOUNG ECONOMISTS' ESSAY AWARDS: The purpose of the Young Economists' Essay Awards (YEEA) is to encourage young researchers to participate in the conference. The awards are given for exceptionally innovative and high-level papers written by researchers who (a) are under the age of 35 and (b) have completed their PhD less than 5 years ago.
