CALL FOR PAPERS
CONFERENCE ON THE EURO AREA AND THE FINANCIAL CRISIS

The National Bank of Slovakia seeks papers for a conference
to be held under the above title, in Bratislava, from
lunchtime on 6 September to lunchtime on 8 September 2010.
The intention is that the papers will provide the basis for
a book to be published by a reputable English-language
publisher.
OVERVIEW:
The conference aims to assess how membership of the euro
area has affected countries' experience of the financial
crisis and the recession; the issues facing recent and
prospective entrants to the euro area; and the future of
the euro area, in terms of monetary-fiscal policy
coordination, financial regulation, monetary policy and
asset prices, and other topics.

PROGRAM COMMITTEE:
The programme committee, and the editors of the proposed
book, are:

PAPER SUBMISSION PROCEDURE:
Papers to be presented at the conference must be available
for publication in the book, and should therefore not be or
have been submitted for publication elsewhere. Complete
papers must be submitted to the organisers by the end of
July 2010; final revised versions of the papers, taking
account of comments made at the conference and by the
editors, should be submitted by the end of October 2010.
The target would be for the book to be published in summer
or autumn 2011.
Authors of papers accepted for presentation will be
provided with travel expenses and accommodation in
Bratislava for the period of the conference.
