2009 GLOBAL DEVELOPMENT AWARDS AND MEDALS COMPETITION
APPLY NOW!! 2009 Global Development Awards and Medals
Competition: Submissions are being accepted for the
Japanese Award for Outstanding Research on Development and
Medals for Research on Development. The three research
themes seek to explore pressing global issues
globalization, regulation and development; international
migration; and regional integration. The deadline for
submissions has been extended till October 20, 2009.
Researchers from developing and transition countries are
invited to participate in the competition. The competition
is generously funded by the Ministry of Finance, Government
of Japan and other donors.
The finalists will win cash prizes and a round-trip air
fare with all boarding and lodging expenses paid to travel
to the GDN Annual Conference where they will present their
proposals/papers and showcase an interesting on-project
before an eminent jury for the final round. This year the
final selection will be held in Prague, Czech Republic.
ELIGIBILITY:
- Citizens and permanent residents of developing and
transition countries or who are temporarily based in a
developed country for not more than five years
- Staff of bilateral/multilateral agencies are not
eligible to apply.
- Age Limit: 45 years

Note: Those applying to the competition under the Japanese
Award for Outstanding Research on Development need to apply
in the template provided, while the Medals for Research on
Development may apply online as per the guidelines.
