FOUNDATION BANQUE DE FRANCE
REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS 14

The Foundation Banque de France is pleased to announce its
new call for proposals. The objective is to solicit
academic research projects conducive to topical papers in
the field of Money, Finance and Banking. The researchers
will be asked to acknowledge the Foundation Banque de
France and to present their work at a conference organised
by the latter.
The total amount earmarked for the call is EUR 120,000. Up
to four grants will be awarded for proposals that may take
one year to eighteen months.
TOPICS:
Topics of interest include - but are not limited to -
policy-relevant work on Money, Finance and Banking such as:
Monetary Policy & Prices:
- Monetary policy under imperfect knowledge
- Monetary policy and financial system stability
- Monetary policy and globalisation
Financial Stability:
- Financial market disruptions
- Interbank and other financial linkages
- Bank competition and regulation
International Macro and Globalisation:
- Financial integration
- Global imbalances
- Macroeconomic policies and growth
PROJECT DETAILS:
Projects should aim to produce a single paper suitable for
submission to a major journal. The Foundation's Scientific
Committee and the Board will pre-select up to ten projects
by mid-February 2010. The selected proposals will have an
additional three-month period before being presented at an
internal meeting attended by the Scientific Committee in
May 2010 (possibly using video conference). Results will be
announced in July 2010.
The above-mentioned pre-selection by the Scientific
Committee is based on the following criteria, receiving
equal weight on a 1-3 scale.
1. Is the research agenda clear?
2. Is it policy-relevant?
3. Is it realistically feasible? (e.g. through use of
European data)
4. Is it innovative?
5. Is it an international joint venture? (Mixed teams
involving French researchers will get maximum grade)
6. What are the team's credentials with regard to the
subject proposed?
