CALL FOR PAPERS
6TH ECB WORKSHOP ON FORECASTING TECHNIQUES FORECASTING:
THE ROLE OF REAL-TIME AND SURVEY DATA
Frankfurt am Main
March 5-6 2010
The Euro Area Business Cycle Network (EABCN), the Deutsche
Bundesbank and the European Central Bank (ECB) are
organizing the 6th ECB Workshop on Forecasting Techniques
on the topic "Forecasting: The role of real-time and survey
data". The workshop will be held in Frankfurt am Main on
March 5-6 2010.
TOPICS:
The workshop will provide a forum for the presentation of
recent theoretical and empirical contributions regarding
the role of real-time and survey data in forecasting
macroeconomic and financial variables. The recent period of
heightened economic and financial uncertainty has
demonstrated the importance of a timely assessment of the
economic and financial outlook and the associated risks for
policy makers.
Possible topics are the following:
1. Forecasting with real-time data and analysis of the
revision process
2. The use of micro and macro surveys in forecasting
3. Timely forecasting and monetary policy
4. Forecasting financial variables: asset prices, corporate
and household loans
5. Density forecasts
However, the scope of the conference should be considered
as wider than the themes listed above and submissions from
all areas of macroeconomic and monetary forecasting are
strongly encouraged.

PAPER SUBMISSION PROCEDURE:
Submission of papers and deadlines:
Manuscript in PDF format should be submitted following the

Accepted papers will be communicated by December 15 2009.
EXPENSES:
Travel and accommodation expenses of invited presenters and
discussants will be covered by the organizers.
