                        2009 ANNUAL CONFERENCE


           ADVANCING THE PRACTICE OF BENEFIT-COST ANALYSIS


                          October 20-21, 2009

                     Abstracts due: July 15, 2009



     The Society for Benefit-Cost Analysis promotes the
     development and appropriate application of benefit-cost
     analysis to a broad range of public policy issues. We
     welcome participation in our second annual conference from
     researchers, practitioners, faculty, and others interested
     in improving the use of benefit-cost analysis, cost-
     effectiveness analysis, risk-benefit analysis, applied
     welfare economic analysis, and damage assessments in policy
     settings.



     TOPICS:


     We are now soliciting abstracts for our conference, which
     will showcase panels presenting papers on a wide range of
     topics under the theme "Advancing the Practice of Benefit-
     Cost Analysis." For example, presentations might address:


     - Principles, standards, and practice guidelines
     - Case studies with new applications
     - Prediction and assessment of uncertainty
     - Valuation techniques
     - The role of analysis in influencing public policy



     PAPER DETAILS:


     The Society welcomes abstracts from those interested in
     presenting research at the conference. Abstracts should be
     between 200 and 300 words in length and provide adequate
     detail on the content of the research. Proposals for panels
     that include 3 to 4 speakers are also welcome, and should
     include a summary of the overall focus of the panel as well
     as 200 to 300 word abstracts for each presentation. Note
     that the program committee reserves the right to accept
     only some of the panel abstracts and to reorganize the
     panels as needed. Submission of an abstract is viewed as a
     firm commitment to participate in the conference if
     accepted. All submissions must include complete contact
     information for each participant.



     APPLICATION PROCEDURE:


     Abstracts and panel proposals should be submitted as email
     attachments in PDF format to:

     2009. The subject line of the email should identify
     "ABSTRACT - 2009 Annual Conference: Advancing the Practice
     of Benefit-Cost Analysis." Authors of accepted
     presentations will be notified by August 15, 2009.
