CALL FOR PAPERS - CLOSING DATE APPROACHING
38TH AUSTRALIAN CONFERENCE OF ECONOMISTS 2009 (ACE09)

The Economic Society of Australia invites you to
participate in the 38th Australian Conference for
Economists, to be held at the University of Adelaide, 28-30
September 2009. ACE09 is being organised for the Economic
Society of Australia, by the South Australian Branch.
KEYNOTE SPEAKERS:
Keynote speakers include:
- Orley Ashenfelter
- Deborah Cobb-Clark
- Brian Copeland (Joseph Fisher Lecturer)
- Edward Lazear
- Lee Ohanian
- Robert Shimer
SPECIAL SESSIONS:
There will be special sessions on contemporary policy
issues, including the global financial and economic crisis;
financial regulation; the economic outlook for Japan;
agricultural protectionism; fishery economics; and ageing.
PAPER SUBMISSIONS:
The Organising Committee calls for submissions across the
full range of economics. Online submission of a contributed
paper or a poster is now open, via the conference website.
Student posters are welcome. Submissions deadline is Friday
29 May. Acceptance will be based on referee reports of
complete papers or, if you prefer, of a 2000-word outline,
focused on methodology and significance. A 100-word
abstract should be submitted, along with the paper/outline.
Acceptances will be notified by 17 July, conditional on
receipt of satisfactory full versions by 14 August.
The organisers of ACE09 are happy to discuss, with
representatives of groups with specialisations within
economics, broadly construed, the possibility of
organising a focused session or sequence within ACE09.
FURTHER INFORMATION:
Authors may submit their paper for publication in a special
edition of the Economic Record, with a prize of $A5,000 for
the best paper.
