THE CANADIAN LAW AND ECONOMICS ASSOCIATION
ANNUAL MEETING
September 26th and 27th, 2008
You are invited to submit a paper for presentation at the
next Annual Meeting of the Canadian Law and Economics
Association on Friday and Saturday, September 26 and 27,
2008, at the Faculty of Law, University of Toronto. This
call is being sent out by e-mail and will go out by post

KEYNOTE SPEAKER:
Professor Bernard Black, Hayden W. Head Regents Chair for
Faculty Excellence Professor of Finance, McCombs School of
Business Co-Director, Center for Law, Business, and
Economics, will be the keynote speaker at this year's
conference.
TOPICS:
As in past years, we are soliciting papers in all areas of
Law and Economics. In addition, there will be a number of
panels focusing on specific topics. The provisional list

PAPER SUBMISSION PROCEDURE:
The Canadian Law & Economics Association (CLEA) is working
with Social Science Research Network (SSRN) to provide an
online conference submission and review system for the CLEA
2008 Annual Meeting. The online submission system will
require a small amount of additional effort on your part
but it has substantial benefits for us and the CLEA
overall. Please click on to:

and follow the on-line submission instructions. The
deadline for submissions is May 28, 2008.
You may wish to communicate directly with the coordinators
listed above if you have questions or suggestions regarding
the topics, but please submit to:

The draft programme will be decided upon in July 2008.
Once your paper has been accepted, you will be required to
register for the conference immediately. Completed papers
will be due by August 15, 2007. Panel moderators will be
indicated on the programme. Accepted papers will be posted
on SSRN with the authors' approval.
REGISTRATION:
Registration information will be sent to all participants
in due course. Please note that the registration fee for
the 2007 CLEA Annual Conference is $200.00 CDN or US. For
students this fee is 30.00 CDN. This covers all conference
materials and meals, including the dinner on Friday
evening. Spouses or partners are welcome to attend the
Friday evening dinner, for a fee of $20.00. Please send
your cheque, made out to the University of Toronto to:

Please note that members will not be permitted to present
if their registration fee is not paid. Information on
accommodations will be sent with the conference programme
