CALL FOR PAPERS
NETSPAR PENSION WORKSHOP
June 25 - 27, 2008
The Hague, the Netherlands
This workshop is organized by Netspar, the Network for
Studies on Pensions, Aging and Retirement. The main
economics faculties and departments in the Netherlands
participate in Netspar, as well as a number of Dutch
insurance companies, pension funds, and public sector
organizations. For more detailed information about
Netspar's research programme, please visit the website:
http://www.netspar.nl
The focus of the June 2008 workshop is the use of micro-
data on pension provisions and health issues related to
retirement decisions and old age financial security. This
workshop is co-organized with Statistics Netherlands.
The workshop starts with a training day, where two keynote
speakers will give an up-to-date review of current pension
research. The keynote speakers are Brigitte Madrian
(Harvard) and Jonathan Skinner (Dartmouth).
The second day of the workshop is an academic conference
with contributed papers. Day 3 focuses on administrative
data (e.g. from Dutch pension funds and insurance
companies) and using them for scientific and policy
purposes.
For the academic conference day (Thursday June 26, 2008),
we invite contributed papers from all fields of pension
economics. Topics of interest are, among others, those that
fit with the Netspar themes "Income, health and work across
the life-cycle" or "Pensions, savings and retirement
decisions". See:
http://www.netspar.nl/themes/
Researchers interested in participating are requested to
submit a paper to:
Email: MAILTO:info@netspar.nl
before March 15, 2008.
Netspar has made funding available that covers
accommodation for speakers and discussants and probably
part of their travel costs. Participants are encouraged
to stay for the full three days of the workshop.
On behalf of the organizer,
Arthur van Soest
