Faculty Positions in Accounting
Erasmus University Rotterdam invites applications for two faculty
positions in accounting. Successful candidates will work as Assistant
Professor or Associate Professor at the Erasmus School of Economics.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Assistant professor positions involve a six-year
tenure-track, with a first evaluation after three years. Candidates
for the position of assistant professor should have a Ph.D., or
expect to complete a Ph.D. in the near future and should demonstrate
the potential for outstanding achievements in research and teaching.
Associate professor positions are tenured positions. Candidates for
associate professor should have a track record of excellent research
and teaching results, including several publications in the top
journals in the field.
All applicants are expected to teach in English. The teaching load is
moderate. The compensation package is competitive relative to
European salaries and includes several secondary benefits (such as a
pension plan that is partially funded by the university). Favorable
tax agreements may apply to non-Dutch applicants.
ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY: Erasmus School of Economics is one of the
leading economics schools in Europe. The Accounting Auditing &
Control (AAC) group is part of the School's Department of Business
Economics. Together with the Accounting & Control group at the
Rotterdam School of Management it forms the Erasmus Accounting
Research Group. The Erasmus Accounting Research Group has a strong
research tradition and an international orientation, as evidenced by
publications in top journals, research collaboration with academics
at leading U.S. schools, an international seminar series and a U.S.
style Ph.D. program. It is currently in a process of growth and rapid
development to establish itself as one of the primary accounting
research groups in Europe. The group's research interests are
concentrated in two main areas: markets-based financial accounting
research and behavioral and experimental management accounting
research. Erasmus University has access to excellent research
facilities, including most major databases (WRDS, CRSP, Compustat,
Datastream, Bloomberg, I/B/E/S, TAQ, etc.), a state-of-the-art
behavioral lab and an experimental economics lab.
All accounting researchers at Erasmus School of Economics are
(associate) members of the Erasmus Research Institute of Management
(http://www.erim.eur.nl) and have the opportunity to become
(candidate) research fellows at the Tinbergen Institute
(http://www.tinbergen.nl).
