Illinois State University is seeking nominations and applications for the position of Chairperson of the Department of Accounting.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Required qualifications include: (1) an earned doctorate in Accounting or Business Information Systems (with a strong background in accounting) from an accredited university: (2) eligibility for tenure and appointment at the associate professor rank or higher; (3) a record of successful teaching and significant intellectual contributions; and (4) familiarity with accounting and business AACSB accreditation standards and processes. Progressive leadership responsibilities are desirable, as are certifications appropriate to the discipline. The individual should possess interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with university and external constituents, leadership qualities, collegiality, vision and negotiating skills to maintain and expand the department's potential. Contract Period: 12 months

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT AND UNIVERSITY: The department offers a B.S in Accountancy, a B.S. in Business Information Systems, an M.S. in Accountancy and a combined five-year Bachelor of Science/Master of Professional Accountancy. The College of Business is accredited by AACSB International and the Department of Accounting holds separate accounting accreditation from the AACSB. The department emphasizes a balance of teaching and research. Illinois State University is a student-centered comprehensive institution with approximately 20,000 students. The University is located in a progressive central Illinois community of 125,000 (has been recognized in Money Magazine's list of the top 100 Best Places to Live in the US) with ready access to the financial centers in Chicago, Indianapolis and St. Louis. The salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
