Assistant Professor in Accounting
Webster University, George Herbert Walker School of Business &
Technology invites applicants for a tenure-track faculty at the rank
of assistant professor. Starting Date: August 2014 or before.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: The desired candidate will possess a Ph.D. in
accounting or in a Business Administration field and experience
teaching in graduate and undergraduate business programs. Prior
publications or evidence of research potential is desired but not
required. If the candidate Ph.D is not in accounting, alternative
professional accreditations are required (CPA or CMA).
Webster values faculty with practical work experience, and a faculty
with experience in the accounting field is desired.
RANK, TERM, AND SALARY: This is a nine-month, tenure-track faculty
position at the rank of Assistant Professor. Salary competitive with
other private accredited institutions in the Midwest.
TEACHING RESPONSIBILITIES: The candidate will have responsibilities
with respect to teaching undergraduate and graduate accounting
courses in financial and managerial accounting. This position also
offers teaching opportunities at Webster's international network of campuses.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Other responsibilities will include
department and university service and research activities.
ABOUT THE SCHOOL OF BUSINESS: The George Herbert Walker School of
Business & Technology is the largest academic unit at Webster
University with a total enrollment of over 14,000 students and 2,300
faculty worldwide. The school has three departments; Business,
Management, and Math & Computer Science. The George Herbert Walker
School of Business & Technology is also responsible for academic
oversight of the programs offered at the 100 extended campuses in the
U.S. and international locations in UK, Austria, Switzerland,
Holland, China, Hungary, Slovakia and Thailand. The Walker School of
Business & Technology offers the Doctorate in Management Degree.
Walker Business School received ACBSP accreditation in 2008.
