Associate Senior Lecturer in Accounting and Control (Ref.#: 1529-13)

Lulea University of Technology (LTU) is a research university in northern Sweden with a natural resources profile, its main campus in Lulea and education on all levels in many different academic disciplines. The Department of Business Administration, Technology and Social Sciences has some 200 employees including 27 full professors and 46 doctoral students. The department hosts 18 research disciplines which are organized in four divisions; Human Work Science, Business Administration and Industrial Engineering, Innovation and Design and Social Sciences. The discipline Accounting and Control is part of Business Administration and Industrial Engineering and conducts research on value creation in extractive industries, supported by LKAB Excellence Centre.

ABOUT THE DISCIPLINE: Accounting and Control comprises accounting, financing, investment, cost and revenue analysis and models for decision making Accounting includes both internal and external accounting. Control refers to control in organisations at the strategic, tactical and operational level. The subject also includes development, implementation and use of models for financial control.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: The associate senior lecturer's main responsibility will be research. The position includes modest teaching/supervision requirements and the requirement to participate in other activities in support of the development of the discipline. Specifically, the associate senior lecturer will be responsible for:
1) Conducting high quality research in accounting and control,
publishing in internationally recognized outlets and communicating the results to the business community and society at large,
2) Contributing successfully to student learning by providing research based teaching and supervision, and
3) Participating in additional activities in Accounting and Control including national and international collaboration.

This is a two-year position which can be subject to prolongation for another two years. The place of work is Lulea, Sweden.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated research abilities as evidenced by articles in recognized refereed journals, contributions to books published by international academic publishers and promising work-in-progress presented at international conferences.
- Documented teaching skills.
