Lulea University of Technology (LTU) is a research university in Sweden with a natural resources profile, its main campus in Lulea and education on all levels in many different academic disciplines. The Department of Business Administration, Technology and Social Sciences has some 200 employees including 27 full professors and 46 doctoral students. The department hosts 18 research disciplines which are organized in four divisions; Human Work Science, Business Administration and Industrial Engineering, Innovation and Design and Social Sciences. The discipline Accounting and Control is part of Business Administration and Industrial Engineering and conducts research on value creation in extractive industries, supported by LKAB Excellence Centre.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: We are looking for an ambitious and creative colleague who is willing to contribute to the creation of a cutting edge research center in business studies oriented towards our profile area. The position as doctoral candidate provides ample opportunity for interaction with corporations in Swedish industry, participation in academic conferences and experience from scientific publishing. The research is expected to be carried out in collaboration with stakeholders outside the university.

A doctoral student is primarily responsible for pursuing a doctoral education program. The intention is that the candidate successfully will be able to defend a doctoral dissertation upon completion of this four year full time study program. The position can include departmental service (usually teaching) equal to 20% of full time work.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: General eligibility as specified in Section 39 of Chapter 7 of the Higher Education Ordinance and a degree in Business Administration with specialization in Accounting and Control or related subject. The ability to work independently, to determine goals and take initiative will be assessed. Proficiency in Swedish and English (spoken and in writing) is required. Evidence of high quality demonstrated in independent written assignments during previous education. Proven ability to work independently, as well as knowledge and interest in the research area demonstrated in academic papers and other publications. The holder of the position fulfills the associated responsibilities in Lulea, Sweden.
