Senior Lecturer
The School of Accountancy is offering an opportunity for a PhD qualified, research active individual with an innovative approach to teaching and learning. You must be able to demonstrate university experience in research and teaching in one of the areas of financial accounting, management accounting, audit, superannuation, financial planning or taxation. The position is open to Australian and International applicants. Closing date is 14 July 2013. Salary Range/Classification: $AUD100 066 to $AUD115 397 pa (Level C)
BACKGROUND INFORMATION: The QUT Business School offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs to over 8,500 students. The Business School is one of Australia's largest and most successful Business Faculties and has committed a significant investment in the development of world class business research capabilities.
The School of Accountancy is one of four Discipline-Based Schools within QUT's Business School (Gardens Point Campus). The School teaches in the fields of accounting (financial and managerial); audit; accounting information systems; business, corporations and tax law; superannuation and wealth management; financial planning and forensics, offering programs of study at Bachelors, Honours, Postgraduate Certificate, Postgraduate Diploma, Masters (coursework and research) and PhD levels. There is currently 38 full-time academic staff members employed in the School.
JOB DESCRIPTION: The appointee will have experience in teaching and research in one of the areas of financial accounting, management accounting, audit, superannuation, financial planning or taxation. The appointee will teach and coordinate at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The appointee will also make a significant contribution to ongoing curriculum development and teaching innovation projects; actively seek funding for and participate in research activities in the School (including cross-disciplinary research as appropriate); and maintain a continuing involvement in at least one significant community service activity.
GENERAL STANDARD: A senior lecturer is expected to make significant contributions to the teaching effort of a school/faculty or other organisational unit or an interdisciplinary area. An academic at this level is also expected to play a major role in scholarship, research and/or professional activities.
