QUT's highly regarded Early Career Academic Recruitment and Development (ECARD) program, the first of its kind in Australia, already has put more than 300 early career academics on the fast track to success. Up to 4 Lecturer positions are available within the QUT Business School, including the School of Accountancy.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants with a PhD and expertise in the fields of Accounting, Commercial and Tax Law, and Superannuation are encouraged to consider joining us in a vibrant, fast paced environment at the Gardens Point Campus. Position closes 12th June 2013.

SALARY: Salary Range/Classification: $AUD81 683 to $AUD97 008 pa (Level B) Plus Superannuation: 17% employer contribution.

JOB DESCRIPTION: This position is part of the Early Career Academic Development Program at QUT. The appointees will participate in an extensive development program specifically designed for this cohort. The program (which is conducted over one year) is designed to accelerate the professional development and cultural integration of early career academics. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: QUT defines an Early Career Academic as a person who has been in an academic role for less than three years. It is expected that appointees will complete a Graduate Certificate qualification as part of their ECARD activities. The qualification will focus on equipping appointees with the knowledge and skills to operate successfully in a contemporary teaching and learning environment.

DUTY STATEMENT: The appointee/s will teach and coordinate at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels and maintain a continuing involvement in at least one significant community service activity. The appointee/s will also actively seek funding for, and make a contribution to, the research activities of the Business School (including cross-disciplinary research as appropriate).

GENERAL STANDARD: A lecturer is expected to make contributions to the teaching effort of the University and to carry out activities to maintain and develop his/her scholarly, research and/or professional activities relevant to the profession or discipline.
