Assistant or Associate Professor of Analytics - Tenure Track

JOB SUMMARY: The School of Management at the University of San Francisco seeks applicants for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant or associate professor starting in Fall 2013 in the field of analytics.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: We seek applicants conducting research in any aspect of applied business analytics (e.g., strategy, marketing, supply chain management, logistics, health care management, social network analysis, etc.) but whose answers depend upon the management and analysis of very large data sets and their use in business decision-making. The School seeks applicants with significant experience in the use of sophisticated computational and statistical techniques and we are particularly interested in candidates with experience using R, Python, and Hadoop in their research and/or business experience.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A successful candidate must meet the following minimum qualifications: (1) an earned doctorate (Ph.D) in marketing, statistics, operations research, econometrics or a related field by the time of appointment; (2) an established or emerging research program in analytics, broadly defined; and (3) an expectation of, or clear record of, excellence in teaching. The successful candidate will teach both undergraduate and graduate courses in the School of Management, and support the new Master of Science in Analytics (MSAN) and its MBA program. The candidate will also be expected to undertake scholarly research in a collaborative and supportive environment that welcomes interdisciplinary and practice-oriented scholarship as well as discipline-based and theoretical work.
